Liam is quite famous on the Fylde coast. He does amazing tributes to Boy George, both looking and sounding like him. He has gotten used to his bald appearance, but deep down, he has always dreamed of having a full head of hair again, just like he used to.
He never thought that getting his hair back would be possible. But now, he has an appointment with a top hair transplant surgeon in London. He has his fiancé, Michael Hopkins, to thank for this. Last July, 38-year-old Liam proposed to his partner, 43-year-old Michael, in a moment that they will never forget.
Liam chose the perfect time to propose. He got down on one knee while filming for the TV show Loose Women. Presenter Colleen Nolan, who grew up in Blackpool and is a friend of Liam’s, interrupted the show after a commercial break to introduce the two of them. This romantic proposal came after Michael had proposed to Liam earlier in the month. Michael had asked Liam to marry him during a cruise in Norway. Both Liam and Michael are big fans of Loose Women, so this proposal on the show was a wonderful surprise for Michael.
As a way to say thank you, Michael arranged for Liam to have a hair transplant procedure at the Wimpole Clinic. Liam said, “I started losing my hair about 14 years ago. It began to recede at the front, and gradually, I lost all the hair on the top of my head.
“I’ve kind of gotten used to being bald, but of course, I didn’t want to lose my hair. I really wish I could have a full head of hair again, like I did before.
“I never thought it would be possible. What Michael has done for me is amazing. I’m really looking forward to having the procedure done.
“The thing is, when you have hair, you can choose to grow it long, style it in different ways, or even shave it all off. But if you don’t have hair, you don’t have those options.”
Liam has already had an appointment via Zoom. He will be meeting the specialist in a couple of weeks.
After the hair transplant procedure is over, Liam and Michael will be ready for their big day. They have set their wedding date for February 15, 2026.
