Did Travis Kelce Get A Hair Transplant? Experts Weigh In, Along With Success Stories From Nmac’s Patients

by Amelia

On Sunday, February 28, 2025, Travis Kelce, an NFL star, showed up at Super Bowl LIX with what seemed like fuller hair. This made his fans firmly believe that he had undergone a hair transplant.

Kelce played on the field with the Kansas City Chiefs, who were aiming to win their third consecutive Super Bowl. But they were defeated by the Philadelphia Eagles with a score of 22 to 40. The Chiefs, including Kelce, had a rough start. When Kendrick Lamar’s halftime show came, they still had no points on the scoreboard and looked quite shaken up on the sidelines.

Cameras kept showing Kelce, who appeared downhearted as the Chiefs’ hopes of winning faded during the game. However, fans noticed that Kelce’s brunette hair looked thicker than usual. Many on social media pointed out that he no longer had a short buzz cut. Instead, he had a fuller hairstyle. They wondered if he had a hair transplant or was wearing a wig.

Experts from the award-winning U.K. barber shop Ruffians dispelled these rumors. They mentioned that Kelce had previously said he doesn’t cut his hair or shave his beard during the playoffs. Kelce said this decision is his personal preference and also one of his girlfriend Taylor Swift’s. He even said his beard is an “ode to the ups and downs of the season.”

Last year, before the Chiefs beat the San Francisco 49ers in the Super Bowl, Kelce didn’t shave. This added to his superstition. In 2023, before Christmas, he chose not to shave and kept a scruffy look until the season ended. He called it a “good luck charm.” Ruffians experts said many athletes think their hair brings good luck. Some believe shaving could change the season’s result, while others feel more confident with a fuller head of hair.

Robyn, the manager of Ruffians Mulgrew store, explained that a full head of hair and beard are often linked to masculinity and attractiveness.

In many cultures, they are associated with maturity or creativity. A beard can enhance a man’s jawline, which is considered attractive. A hairstyle also helps men show their personality. Different styles suit different face shapes and personal looks. Robyn added that hair is one of the first things people notice, so grooming and maintenance are important.

Kelce hasn’t said anything about his new look, but fans have been having fun teasing him online.

In the past five months, the North Shore Medical Aesthetics Centre had 24 people get hair transplants with the help of a visiting Turkish team of experts. Kyjuan Brown, the founder of NMAC, said the results were impressive.

Client Carlos Frias, 58 years old, openly said he had a hair transplant five months ago to cover a thinning area. He said someone told him people would know, but he didn’t care. He fully recommends the procedure and thinks Dr Brown is amazing. When he heard NMAC was offering hair transplants, he texted Dr Brown right away and saw him the next day. Dr Brown had to check if he was a good candidate. Frias felt old without hair as he had lost a lot in the front. He had enough hair on the back of his head to be transplanted to the front. The process took six hours. He sat in a chair the whole time, got two injections to numb the area, and didn’t feel any pain. He could watch the whole thing with a mirror. Some might feel sick watching, but he was curious. He was happy that he didn’t have to take time off work and could go to work the next day. Right away, people told him he looked much younger. After the transplant, the hair keeps growing. Once the site heals, it can be washed, combed, and cut like normal. Frias paid $3,500 for the treatment, but the price depends on how much hair needs to be transplanted. It’s cheaper in Turkey, but he thought he got a good deal here because he wouldn’t have to pay for flights, accommodation, and take time off work.

Junior Vargas, 24 years old, had a hair transplant five months ago to lower his hairline. He said he wasn’t balding but always had a high forehead. Before Dr Brown brought the Turkish transplant team to Bermuda, Vargas spent a lot of time watching YouTube videos about the procedure. He was excited when he heard it would be done in Bermuda as he just wanted to look better. The painter, from the Dominican Republic, thought his high forehead was probably inherited from his mother’s side of the family. After the transplant, people noticed he looked different but couldn’t tell exactly why. They just thought he had a new haircut.
