In 2009, Shakira spoke about surgery in an interview with Colombian newspaper El Tierra, which was misunderstood by fans. When asked if she had undergone surgery, she said: “Definitely not breast augmentation. If I had a rhinoplasty, I might have considered it.”
The Colombian pop star also revealed that she did visit a plastic surgeon to consult about a nose job, but ultimately did not go through with the procedure.
