Chloe Ferry, 29, revealed on Monday that she had suffered from ‘depression and anxiety’ after being body – shamed by trolls and opened up about her botched cosmetic surgery on Instagram.
The Geordie Shore star shot to fame on the hit MTV show 10 years ago when she was just 19 years old and quickly became a fan favorite.
However, she soon became a target for trolls who criticized her looks, which affected her’mental health and confidence’ severely. As a result, she spent over £50,000 on cosmetic procedures. Chloe admitted that she was ‘naive and vulnerable’ when, as a teenager, she was offered surgeries and went through with them, believing they would’solve all my problems’.
Now, she has revealed that she is ‘correcting’ her botched surgeries and wants to educate her fans so that they don’t make the same’mistakes’ she did.
Writing a statement on a black background, Chloe penned: ‘I’m writing this post as I’d like to share with you all something personal to me that I have never publicly addressed. Something I don’t speak about as it was a sensitive topic which I found hard to openly discuss. Being put into the public eye at 19 years old was very daunting, and I was naive and vulnerable.
‘I was ridiculed for my looks and my weight amongst other numerous insults through social media and the press, which affected my mental health and confidence massively. The young woman I once loved being became self – conscious, constantly looking for perfection.’
She continued: ‘With this attention came offers of cosmetic surgery, which I thought would solve all my problems, give me back my spark and self – love. But this wasn’t the case.
‘I suffered more depression, anxiety, as well as physical discomfort. It was a decision made without fully understanding the pros and cons, a decision made in the hope that it would make me feel whole again.
‘After years of working on my inner self, I feel like I’ve grown and entered a new stage of my life. I want to be transparent with my followers and take you along on a journey to correct my previous work and educate you all on the harsh truth of what I have endured alone for so long.
‘I want young women and men to learn from my mistakes and have a better understanding of cosmetic surgery.
A renowned surgeon from London will be assisting me on my journey, which will be shared through my stories. I want to take this opportunity to thank you all for being very supportive. It really means the world to me.’
Chloe previously revealed that she has spent over £50,000 on cosmetic procedures, including two nose jobs, liposuction, and breast augmentation.
