Kaitlyn Bristowe: Sharing Her Cosmetic Surgery Journey And Shutting Down Critics

by Amelia

Kaitlyn Bristowe is being really open about her upper blepharoplasty. She’s even sharing how her dog reacted to it.

The 39 – year – old former Bachelorette had this cosmetic surgery in early December. On Wednesday, January 22, she shared new details about her experience in an Instagram Reel.

According to the Mayo Clinic, upper blepharoplasty removes extra skin from the eyelids. This extra skin can cause things like “sagging eyebrows, droopy upper lids, and bags under the eyes.” The clinic also says the procedure can make your eyes look “younger and more alert.” It can even help with vision problems. When there’s a lot of sagging skin around the eyes, it can reduce side vision, especially in the upper and outer parts of what you can see.

In her video, Bristowe said she chose to have the surgery because she has a “very hooded lid.” She said, “I tried to fix it with Botox, but I got too much bad Botox. It made my lid droop even more.”

The host of the Off the Vine podcast also mentioned that she’s had other cosmetic treatments. She’s had cheek and lip filler, and she’s had her teeth bonded. (The Cleveland Clinic says bonding is a procedure to “repair chips, close gaps, or change the shape and color of a tooth.”)

But her eyelids had bothered her “for a very long time,” she said. Even after getting a normal amount of Botox, she still decided to have a blepharoplasty. Bristowe said this was her first plastic surgery where she “went under the knife.” The surgery only took 15 to 20 minutes, and her stitches were in for about 10 to 14 days.

During her recovery, one of her two golden retrievers, Pinot or Ramen, “clawed at one of my eyes.” She said, “I had to get one re – stitched. So that eye is healing a bit slower than the other one.”

Because of this, Bristowe said she had to sleep sitting up for two days. But soon after, she “went on with life as normal.” She said, “I had the upper bleph surgery on December 5. It’s now January 22. The scarring is healing well.”

She also said, “I just put a little vitamin E oil on it. And I want to say I’m not trying to influence you or make you think you need this surgery. I’m just being honest and sharing my experience.”

Bristowe’s video came three weeks after she responded to people who criticized her for the procedure. On December 30, she wrote in an Instagram post, “Believe it or not, I’ve done more work on the inside. You can’t see it, but I feel it more than ever.”

She added, “To those who always say, ‘You were so much prettier before all the work you’ve had done,’ I think you should work on the important stuff inside before judging what’s on the outside.”
