The Aesthetic Society, a leading authority in aesthetic plastic surgery, has released its 2023 Aesthetic Plastic Surgery National Databank report, revealing significant trends in the industry. The report highlights a 2.9% increase in total surgical procedures from 2022 to 2023, contributing to an overall growth of 10.2% from 2019 to 2023. This data underscores the sustained demand for aesthetic plastic surgery.
Compiled in collaboration with CosmetAssure, the 2023 statistics are based on a comprehensive dataset of over 150,000 procedures performed by 762 surgeons. Experts reviewed and standardized the data to ensure accuracy and relevance.
Dr. Kiya Movassaghi, President of The Aesthetic Society, commented on the evolving landscape of aesthetic plastic surgery, stating, “Surgical procedures continue to perform strongly, while nonsurgical treatments are also on the rise. Our specialty is well-positioned to meet the dynamic needs and preferences of our patients.” He also introduced AlliedPro, a new membership program designed to support nonsurgical aesthetic professionals with training and community resources, enhancing their skills and improving patient outcomes.
The introduction of AlliedPro reflects the growing importance of nonsurgical procedures in the industry. This program aims to provide educational opportunities and resources to registered nurses, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, aestheticians, practice managers, patient coordinators, and all staff involved in aesthetic care.
