Tamra Judge, a star of “The Real Housewives of Orange County,” has shared her experience of significant facial swelling following plastic surgery and a carbon-dioxide (CO2) laser treatment aimed at reversing signs of aging.
In a recent Instagram vlog, Judge, 57, revealed her swollen face, which made it difficult for her to open her eyes. She explained that the swelling was the result of a brow lift procedure and the CO2 laser treatment.
Day Three: The Worst Swelling
“OK, guys, this is day three. It’s supposed to be the worst of it when it comes to swelling,” Judge shared, giving fans a close-up look at her face from different angles.
She detailed that the CO2 treatment had caused extreme full facial swelling, which, according to Healthline, is a common response to such a procedure. “The swelling is from the CO2 laser. You can see it’s all the way down my chest. But you can imagine what it feels like,” she said, describing the “nice and crispy” texture of her skin post-treatment.
Resting and Recovering
Later in the day, Judge provided another update while resting in bed, dressed in cheetah-print pajamas. Struggling to move her face, she mumbled, “Swelling is supposed to be at its worst right now. I don’t know how it can get any worse. I feel like my skin is going to burst. You can see it’s getting oozy. I can barely open my eyes.”
She also mentioned discomfort in her throat, which she attributed to the tube used during the procedure. Despite the challenges, she remained hopeful, stating, “I hope to turn a corner by Monday.”
Judge captioned the video with a reminder to her followers: “Progress isn’t always pretty, but it’s happening.”
A Look at the Surgery Journey
On Saturday, Judge shared a detailed video of her plastic surgery journey on Instagram, in collaboration with Dr. Donald Mowlds, a surgeon based in Newport Beach, California.
The video included selfies of Judge in a hospital gown and hair net as she prepared for the surgery. Another clip showed her just an hour after the procedure, with her head wrapped in a bandage and her face tinted blue from a chemical peel she had added to her appointment.
In the caption, Judge explained that she decided to undergo an upper facelift after having a lower facelift seven years prior.
An Open Book on Cosmetic Procedures
Judge has been open with her 1.8 million Instagram followers about her various cosmetic procedures over the years. Notably, in July 2021, she shared that she had her breast implants removed, citing health concerns. “Tired of being tired and inflamed,” she wrote at the time, explaining that the implants had caused issues like swollen joints, fatigue, gut inflammation, and bladder problems.
Tamra Judge’s latest updates continue to show her candidness about the realities of cosmetic surgery, reminding her followers that while the journey may be tough, it’s part of the process toward her desired results.
