Vision Eye Institute (VEI) has announced the launch of complimentary registrations for its upcoming 2024 national webinar series, focusing on enhancing ophthalmic referrals. Scheduled for 4 September, the webinar aims to delve into crucial aspects of referral practices across various specialties.
The webinar will feature VEI ophthalmologists discussing optimal referral criteria and essential information for cases spanning general ophthalmology, pre/post cataract surgery, paediatric ophthalmology, glaucoma, and neuro-ophthalmology. According to VEI, the selection of this thematic focus stems from feedback garnered from previous Continuing Professional Development (CPD) events.
Dr. Rushmia Karim, a renowned paediatric subspecialist with expertise in neuro-ophthalmology and cataract surgery, will deliver insights into best practices for referring paediatric and neuro-ophthalmological cases.
Dr. Jack Kane, an internationally recognized cataract surgeon and comprehensive ophthalmologist, will address challenges arising post-cataract surgery and provide guidance on referral indications and necessary documentation.
Additionally, A/Prof Tim Roberts, Clinical Associate Professor at the University of Sydney and consultant ophthalmic surgeon at the Royal North Shore Hospital, will examine referral strategies encompassing cataract, glaucoma, and general ophthalmology.
The Q&A session will be moderated by Ms. Stephanie Stavrinakis, leveraging her expertise as a clinical optometrist to facilitate interactive discussions among participants.
