A free eye screening camp for police personnel and their families was held on Sunday at the Special Security Unit (SSU) Headquarters. This initiative was a collaborative effort between the Digital Media Network Voice Of Nation (VON) and the POB Trust Eye Hospital.
Specialist doctors from POB Eye Hospital provided comprehensive eye examinations during the camp. Police personnel diagnosed with cataracts were offered complimentary surgical treatment at the hospital.
DIG Security & Emergency Services Division, Dr. Maqsood Ahmed, expressed his appreciation for the support provided by POB Eye Hospital’s administration and medical professionals. He praised their efforts in both the eye screening process and the provision of free cataract surgeries.
Dr. Ahmed underscored the critical importance of eye health, noting that many individuals lose their vision due to eye diseases, often exacerbated by high treatment costs and insufficient awareness. He stressed the necessity of regular eye check-ups and prompt medical intervention.
The event saw participation from numerous officers, personnel, and their families, who benefited from the screenings. The camp was well-attended, with staff members actively involved in facilitating the event.
