Breast Surgery

A woman in China was shocked to discover that she had been secretly filmed during breast augmentation surgery after recognizing herself in a widely circulated online video.

The woman, identified by her surname Gao, underwent the procedure at a cosmetic surgery hospital in Henan province, central China, back in January. Five months later, she stumbled upon a video on Douyin, China’s equivalent of TikTok, featuring herself and several other women post-surgery, still heavily bandaged and under the influence of anesthesia.

The video, which garnered 28,000 likes and 39,000 shares, clearly showed Gao despite her bandages, making her easily identifiable.

Gao expressed deep concern over the invasion of her privacy and has made repeated efforts to contact the hospital, demanding the identification of the person responsible for filming and the removal of the video. Additionally, she has called for a public apology from the hospital and sought compensation for the breach of her privacy.

In response, the hospital has declined to issue an apology, claiming that the video was recorded and shared by an “external” party.
