Plastic surgery may give you a glowing look, but what about the recovery? Not so pretty. Just ask Kailyn Lowry, who opened up about her pain five days after surgery.
The 32-year-old Teen Mom alum took to TikTok to share the struggles she experienced following her tummy tuck surgery.
“I was super uncomfortable,” she admitted as she walked down the hallway of her home. “I’m trying to cut back on the pain meds. I don’t want to get addicted.”
Lowry went on to say that her friend Sterling Black helped her bathe. “Then I’m going to do a lymphatic massage,” she explained. “But when I was walking around, I felt a little — a little uncomfortable.”
Despite the discomfort of the procedure, the New York Times bestselling author wanted to clear up any misconceptions about her surgery. “I didn’t get a butt implant or a BBL or anything like that,” she said. However, because the tummy tuck revision was done at the same time as her C-section scar, she noted, “I have some pretty bad bruising on my butt.”
At the end of the video, Lowry shared some advice for anyone considering surgery. “Whatever surgery you have, make sure you take laxatives, Miralax or whatever,” she advised, before revealing her go-to recovery drink: “prune juice mixed with Miralax.”
The social media comments section was quickly flooded with comments.
“I had a very, very emotional morning, especially shower time,” she shared in a “Get Ready With Me” video on Instagram on Monday, January 6. “I pray that my children never have to struggle with body image to the point where they hurt their bodies to be thin.”
The podcaster, who rose to fame in 2010 with her show 1 6 & Pregnant, is now a mother of seven. She shares one-year-old twins, Verse and Valley, and two-year-old son Rio with her fiancé Elijah Scott. She also has children Isaac, 15, with ex-husband Joe Rivera; Lincoln, 11, with ex-husband Javi Marroquin; and Lux, 7, and Creed, 4, with ex-husband Chris Lopez.
