Amanda Bynes has previously spoken publicly about her plastic surgery, responding to speculation about her changes in appearance. In December 2023, Bynes confirmed on TikTok that she had undergone blepharoplasty, a procedure that removes folds of skin from the corners of her eyes.
After launching a new podcast with her partner Paul Sieminski, Amanda Bynes noticed that people online were commenting on her appearance. She responded on TikTok that she had seen some posts saying that she looked different and wanted to clarify. “I’ve never said this publicly before, but I did have blepharoplasty to fix the folds of skin in the corners of my eyes,” she said. The actress called the surgery “one of the best things that’s ever happened to me,” and said, “I feel so much better now and I’m so glad I had it.”
In a follow-up video, she also talked about how lighting affects how she looks in photos. “I’m only 37 and I don’t look old at all,” she said, adding that the scar on the right side of her face is only visible in certain lighting. To demonstrate, she steps outside in the video to show how different lighting can dramatically change how she looks in photos.
“That’s the secret to how I look beautiful, I tend to look for the best lighting,” Bynes said at the end of the video.
In 2014, Bynes shared on Twitter that she had undergone a nose job to remove skin between her eyes. She said she would prefer the media use more recent photos of her rather than older photos that no longer reflect her appearance.
