Since Donald Trump’s administration took office, the idea of “beauty standards” for conservative women in the United States has been changing. More people are getting plastic surgery to look like women linked to the Trump family, those known as “MAGA” women.
On the 18th (local time), the Financial Times (FT) reported, “With 53% of white female voters supporting him, President Trump came into office. Now, U.S. voters don’t expect public officials to have gray hair and wrinkled foreheads anymore.” It also said, “Instead, very feminine features have become the norm in the Trump 2.0 era.”
The so – called “MAGA style” means having an extremely youthful – looking face, tanned skin, plump lips, carefully done wavy hairstyles, and well – kept long nails. The FT explained that, as Trump said in a CNN interview, “We made the presidency hot.” This shows that beauty standards have changed along with Trump’s time in office.
Raquel DeBono, a conservative activist in New York and the host of the single – party “Make America Hot Again”, says that beauty standards among young conservatives are shifting. He pointed out that in the past, blonde anchors on Fox News were popular. But now, brown – haired people with faces that have a bit of Botox and moderately enhanced lips are becoming the new “beauty standard”.
Some people are even having plastic surgery to look like the Trump family. Norman Rowe, a plastic surgeon in New York, opened a new clinic in Palm Beach, Florida, in March 2025.
He said there was a big increase in the number of patients visiting before New Year’s Eve parties and presidential inaugurations. In Palm Beach, the most asked – for surgery is “facelift surgery”. Facelift surgery involves making cuts behind the ears or on the scalp to remove loose skin and fat. Then, the separated skin is pulled tight to get rid of wrinkles. This is a good way to get an overly youthful face, which is part of the “MAGA style”. Facelift and eyelid – lifting surgeries are also popular. In New York, nose jobs and breast augmentations are the most common. Rowe said, “Before, whenever the Kardashian sisters showed up, our phones would ring off the hook.
But now, a lot of people are asking for ‘a face like Melania Trump’.” A woman in her early 40s spent $60,000 (about 87.11 million won) on procedures like thread lifting, laser treatments, Botox, and different fillers before going on a trip to Mar – a – Lago.
The fashion style of the Trump family is also becoming more popular. The role model for the younger generation is President Trump’s daughter, Ivanka Trump. Ivanka is known for her stylish and neat look. On January 20, during President Trump’s inauguration, Ivanka wore a dark green Dior dress, put her hair up, and wore a small beret. Alexa Rodulfo, her long – time hair and makeup artist, said that her aim is to give Ivanka a “simple old Hollywood look”.
