Stephy Qi, also known as Qi Wei, is bold enough to admit that the change in her appearance on a recent TV show was caused by “too much Botox”.
The matter came to light recently when the actress made an appearance on the variety show “Viva La Romance”. She had a swollen face and droopy eyes, which were noticeably different from her normal look. This immediately caught the attention of many people.
Her appearance triggered a fierce debate on Chinese social media platforms. A large number of people suspected that she had undergone a significant amount of plastic surgery on her face. In reply to these claims, Stephy turned to her vlog. She confessed that she had Botox injected into her face because of work requirements, but “unintentionally had an excessive amount”.
She explained, “I injected a bit too much Botox, and my work schedule was extremely tight. So, I didn’t have any time to recover. Moreover, I had a high fever that day, which made my whole body swell up.”
Regarding her droopy eyes, Stephy stated that due to the Botox, she couldn’t raise her eyebrows. She added, “When you can’t lift your eyebrows, your eyes will try to compensate, and as a result, your eyes will tend to droop.”
After that, she laughed and sang Super Junior’s song “Sorry, Sorry”. Then, she reminded netizens not to overdo it when it comes to cosmetic procedures.
Fans and netizens couldn’t help but be charmed by Stephy’s candor. One person commented, “Stephy is so direct. She doesn’t hide what she has done and is willing to share it with everyone without any hesitation.”
