The before-and-after photos are truly amazing. The women looked 15, 20, even 30 years younger – a testament to the virtuosity and artistry of Dr. Carl Truesdale, a double-certified facial plastic surgeon in Beverly Hills.
“What I’m really known for is facial rejuvenation surgery – making people look younger,” Dr Truesdale said.
Originally from New York, the 37-year-old plastic surgeon worked as a portrait painter before pursuing a career in medicine. This artistic background sharpened his attention to detail and enhanced his ability to create natural aesthetic effects.
Dr Truesdale explains: “I think my background as a portraitist really helped me achieve delicate, beautiful and subtle surgical results. I’ve spent my life studying the human form and the human face.”
A large percentage (50 percent) of Dr. Truesdale’s patients are black women who appreciate his expertise in treating their unique skin types.
“For the skin of people of color, factors to consider in particular include scarring and healing patterns,” he said. In black, Latino and Asian communities, you have to be on the lookout for possible bad scars and keloids. That’s where I focus on prevention.”
Last September, Dr. Truesdale performed facial rejuvenation surgery on his mother, Dr. Linda Truesdale.
“I’ve become so beautiful.” “She said with a smile.
The 69-year-old was pleased with the results. “One woman came up to me and said, ‘Oh my God, you look absolutely beautiful,’ and I was like, wow.”
Since opening his own practice in Beverly Hills in 2020, Dr. Truesdale has built a strong reputation, with 80 to 90 percent of his patients hearing about him through social media.
Christine Harris is one of those patients. “I found Dr. Truesdale on Instagram.” “She said. After seeing the metamorphosis of several patients, she decided to contact him.
“I have a lot of people asking me when I’m going to retire, and it bothers me because I’m not ready,” the 63-year-old said.
After undergoing a full facelift, Kristen is now embracing her new look.
“People keep telling me, ‘You look great! What did you do? Whatever it is, I want to do it! ‘” she said with a laugh.
For Dr. Truesdale, plastic surgery is more than a career – it’s a passion.
“It’s the best job in the world because you get to help people and still be an artist.” It’s medicine that makes people feel good.”
Achieving such success was no easy feat, but Dr. Truesdale believed in the power of perseverance and determination.
“I am one of the few black facial plastic surgeons and I have achieved my dream. If you see me and are inspired, that’s great. It’s not going to be easy — it’s going to be tough — but it’s worth it if you go for it.”
