The Trend Of Male Plastic Surgery Is Coming, The Pursuit Of Natural Beauty, These Items Are The Most Popular!

by Amelia

Men are no longer on the sidelines when it comes to cosmetic surgery. According to new data from the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (AAFPRS), 92 percent of surgeons report seeing male patients. These data confirm the obvious – men are increasingly accepting of fine-tuning their appearance and seeking treatments that enhance features without overdoing it.

Women may still dominate the beauty market, but the trend of cosmetic surgery for men is closing the gap. Eyelid surgery, nose jobs and facelifts top the list of popular procedures, but less visible tweaks like cheek fat pad removal and ear jobs are also gaining traction. “The self-care movement has both men and women focusing on long-term health,” says Lee Ann Klausner, MD, a facial plastic surgeon in New York City. Male patients want to “look as good as they feel,” she said. There is also a great demand for a more shapely jawline. Jeffrey Wise, MD, a facial plastic surgeon in Wayne, New Jersey, says neck treatments such as submental liposuction are among the most common procedures he performs on male patients. The trend shows a growing interest in sharper, more three-dimensional and natural-looking facial features.

Hair loss is still the biggest problem for many men. “Men may be under more pressure to maintain a full head of hair due to cultural norms and expectations of masculinity, youth and attractiveness,” says Kimberly Lee, MD, a facial plastic surgeon in Beverly Hills, California. As non-invasive treatments improve, more and more men are taking active action to restore their hair. “Male pattern baldness is more common than female pattern baldness,” Dr. Klausner said. “Men who might have waited to see what happened in the past don’t have to wait anymore.” She mentioned TED, a non-invasive treatment that uses ultrasound energy to help hair growth serum be absorbed more effectively by the scalp. “No pain, no anesthesia, and if you still have some hair, it works great,” she added.

Dr. Wise agrees that men are acting earlier when it comes to hair loss. “Now that there are more solutions, efforts to address hair loss have become very popular.” Beauty injections are no longer just for women. Whether it’s due to the rise of video conferencing culture, the influence of social media, or a general shift in attitudes, more and more men are opting for injections. “With the advent of selfies and social media, more and more men are opting for Botox and fillers,” Dr Lee said.

For many men, it’s also about staying competitive. Dr Wise explained: “Society tends to place a high value on the importance of youth, especially in the workplace. Many men are seeking rejuvenation procedures such as hair transplants, as well as minimally invasive treatments such as injections and lasers to restore their looks.”

The experts we spoke with all said that most of their male patients aren’t looking for major changes, just subtle tweaks to look their best. “With a focus on staying young and preventing aging, these non-invasive treatments offer a convenient and secretive option,” Dr. Lee said.
