Teddi Mellencamp Arroyave, a former star of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, gave her fans a startling health update this week.
On Wednesday, February 12, Teddi shared the news on Instagram. She said she was going to have emergency brain surgery.
The 43-year-old reality TV star wrote, “For the past few weeks, I’ve been dealing with really bad and tiring headaches.”
She continued, “Yesterday, the pain was so bad that I had to go to the hospital. After getting a CT scan and an MRI, doctors found several tumors in my brain. They think these tumors have been growing for at least six months.”
Mellencamp went on to explain that on Wednesday, two of the tumors would be removed. The smaller remaining tumors would be treated later.
“I’m lucky to have my children, family, friends, doctors, nurses, and surgeons around me. They’re all doing their best to help me get better,” Mellencamp added. “Thank you to everyone who has reached out and supported me during this time.” The TV star and businesswoman also talked about her surgery in her Instagram Stories. She shared a photo of herself lying in a hospital bed with medical things on her head.
She wrote on the photo, “Counting down the minutes until my kids arrive.” She also said, “As my dad told me this morning, God only gives tough things to people who can handle them. It’s a hard day, but I have faith in my great surgeons and I know everything will be fine.”
Mellencamp also posted a video of herself getting her head shaved in the hospital room.
She wrote, “All I need now is an umbrella,” probably making a reference to Britney Spears’ famous head-shaving moment in 2007.
In 2023, Mellencamp told her fans about having surgery for stage 2 melanoma on her shoulder.
At that time, she urged her followers, “Please get your skin checked. I promise you don’t want to go through what I did.”
