In 2012, Richie Guarnacho rose to fame as a northern stud when he fell in love with Vicky Pattison in Jordi Shore.
But a decade after his TV debut, Richie Guarnacho, 38, is unrecognisable from the fresh-faced hairdresser. He quit the show after a toxic relationship with his fiancee, Vicky, broke down.
In 2022, when Jody Shore was picked up by Paramount +, Ritchie, 38, returned to the show. But in his years away from the television screen he has spent more than £50,000 on cosmetic surgery and now admits he is’ addicted ‘to going under the knife. When a trailer for the new season appeared on X (formerly Twitter) last week, Richie’s fans were shocked, commenting: “Hardly recognize Richie and Kyle”; “I don’t usually comment on people’s looks, but God, their faces”; ‘What’s wrong with their faces! Their eyes look so small. Is that a side effect of too much Botox?” ; “Are all their teeth made of plastic? ; “Oh wow, what do I see, these people all need help!” Richie, however, is proud of his new look, telling the Daily Star: “I love it, I’m addicted. I think I look pretty good for 38. I’ve got some great surgeons.”
Listing his cosmetic procedures, Ritchie revealed that he has had three nose jobs, blepharoplasty (eyelid lift), mandibular surgery (jaw tightening), neck muscle tightening, Botox injections, fillers and three sets of dental veneers.
Ritchie insists she has no plans to stop getting plastic surgery any time soon, with the reality star adding: “I’m definitely going to have more. I love it. I don’t care what anyone says. I look good and attractive. I do think some people might go too far, but what is too far?”
Richie’s love of cosmetic surgery coincides with many of his fellow Geordie Shore stars, some of whom have also gone under the knife since appearing on the show.
Despite a recent shift in cultural trends toward a more “natural” look, this has led some MTV stars to reverse their plastic surgery or be left with lifelong regrets.
Ritchie began experimenting with plastic surgery during a break from Geordie Shore, when he was working as a DJ in Australia.
In Australia, he is best known for his appearances on MTV, where millions tuned in to watch him and Vicky have drunken on-screen arguments. Although it’s been more than a decade since they split, Ritchie revealed that they’re still “absolutely” not on good terms.
Asked if they were still in touch, he told the Sun: “No, absolutely not. I wish her all the best. I think we’ve all grown up a lot.”
Richie, who returned to the show for a reunion without Vicky, said the experience was much more enjoyable because he was no longer “in a volatile relationship, constantly fighting all day long.”
The exes also appeared together on Exes Beach in 2014, which forced them to look back on their failed relationship, leading to more heated fights.
“It’s pretty brutal,” Ritchie told the outlet. In a weird way, it’s led to great careers for both of us.”
He has since been linked to co-star Chantelle Connelly, with whom he had an on-again, off-again relationship on the show.
