Dakota Mortensen, from “The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives,” is no longer keeping his hair – related endeavors under wraps. The star, who has a 9 – month – old daughter, Ever True, with his on – and – off partner Taylor Frankie Paul, decided to let his TikTok followers in on his recent hair transplant experience.
On January 11, Dakota started his TikTok video at 7 AM. He invited viewers to “come along” as he went to get a hair transplant. Right off the bat, the video showed the back and sides of his head being shaved. “So, this is my new hairline, folks,” the 31 – year – old said, pointing at a dotted line across his forehead. “I shaved my head, and now I look like a Viking!” he exclaimed.
Next, the video cut to Dakota lying back as Dr. James Manning from Utah Facial Plastics began the procedure. Dakota said, “It feels like something is squeezing my head.” A woman, whose voice was heard off – camera, told him that the feeling would last throughout the day.
The doctor then explained what he was doing to Dakota. As the video neared its end, Dakota showed what he called “the final product.” With a bandage on his head, he joked, “It looks like a bunch of maggots, but I promise I’ll look like Fabio when it all heals up.”
Dakota admitted in the caption that he had skipped showing several steps of the process. “I couldn’t show a lot because it was so bloody, but it was such a crazy process,” he wrote. This Hulu star clearly had a good time during the procedure. Before this detailed video, he had already shared two light – hearted videos from the doctor’s office.
In one, he pretended to be sad, with the text “when you’re going bald, so you get a hair transplant” on the video. His caption teased that a “full head of hair” was on its way. In the second video, he was just having fun in the doctor’s office, with the text “When they leave you alone in a room you shouldn’t be left alone in.”
After a fan asked how he was feeling the day after the procedure, Dakota posted another video. He said that his face and nose were swollen. Some commenters had pointed out that he seemed to have a healthy head of hair before the transplant. Dakota explained that it wasn’t that simple. He was thinking about the future.
“I know a lot of you were asking, ‘Dude, you’re not going bald!’” he said in the January 12 video. “Well, I know. My hair was just receding. Not too badly, but it was starting to. Now, it’ll grow back much fuller and last a long time.”
“The hardest part is that I can’t touch my head at all,” Dakota added. “It itches like crazy, and I really want to scratch, but I can’t.”
