Quinte Health welcomes Dr. Oleg Lefel, a seasoned general surgeon with extensive experience from Yarmouth Regional Hospital in Nova Scotia, where he has practiced for the past 15 years.
Dr. Lefel specializes in advanced laparoscopy for both upper and lower GI tracts, addressing benign and malignant conditions. His expertise also encompasses laparoscopic hernia repair, splenectomy, breast surgery including lymph node biopsy and dissection, colorectal surgery, thyroid surgery, minimally invasive parathyroid surgery, upper GI endoscopy, colonoscopy with polypectomy, tattoo placement, balloon dilatation, and hemostatic procedures.
Relocating to Belleville with his family, which includes his wife—a fellow operating room nurse at Quinte Health—alongside their three daughters and their Miniature Schnauzer named Sam, Dr. Lefel is set to commence his practice in August and is ready to accept referrals.
His office will be situated in the WCA building at Belleville General Hospital, where he will conduct procedures not only in Belleville but also at Trenton and Picton hospitals.
