Dr. Kasim Usmani, a renowned cosmetic doctor based in London, has seen a surge in demand for salmon sperm injections, a trending treatment popular among celebrities like Kim Kardashian. At 32, Dr. Usmani runs Dr. Kas Clinics in central London, where he offers these highly sought-after injections promising a “refreshed face” and youthful skin.
The treatment has garnered praise from A-listers such as Jennifer Aniston and is now more accessible to the public. Sessions start at £299, with most clients returning monthly for three to four treatments.
Dr. Usmani’s clinic also provides other advanced procedures, including stem cell therapy and non-surgical rhinoplasty. He is personally familiar with cosmetic treatments, having spent £4,000 on a beard transplant and experienced the injections firsthand.
Dr. Usmani is dedicated to destigmatizing cosmetic surgery, arguing it should be viewed like any other medical practice. “The injections, known as Polynucleotide injections, improve hydration, reduce pigmentation, and provide overall anti-ageing benefits. They are also healing and anti-inflammatory,” he explained.
“We extract genetic material from salmon and trout sperm and inject it into the skin. This process helps tighten the skin and stimulate cell regeneration.” Dr. Usmani frequently corrects “botched jobs” performed by unqualified individuals, attributing this problem to the UK’s lenient cosmetic surgery regulations.
The UK government acknowledged: “The current regulatory framework places few restrictions on who can perform non-surgical cosmetic procedures,” leading to numerous unsafe practices. Dr. Usmani recently treated a patient who had a Brazilian butt lift performed by a hairdresser.
He expressed shock, saying, “The buttocks is a high-risk area with significant blood supply. Procedures done without proper training can cause life-threatening complications.”
Dr. Usmani also treated a patient who developed necrosis, a severe condition where body tissue dies, after a routine filler treatment went wrong. “It’s crucial to be treated by someone with a proven track record, accreditation, insurance, and regulation by a professional body like the GMC or its equivalent,” he emphasized.
A proponent of advanced treatments, Dr. Usmani has undergone several non-surgical procedures himself, including filler injections. “I aim for natural results, so it appears as if no invasive work was done. I wouldn’t recommend a treatment I wouldn’t have myself. People often say I look in my twenties—so the treatments must be effective,” he noted.
Dr. Usmani believes the cosmetic field is on the verge of a significant revolution. “Aesthetic medicine is evolving beyond cosmetics to focus on anti-ageing and preventive care, optimizing skin health and boosting confidence.”
While he acknowledges that cosmetic and skin treatments are not for everyone, he advocates for their normalization, comparing them to routine health check-ups. “Each person ages, and while we can’t stop the ageing process, there are physical issues we can address,” he said.
“The skin is an organ. If someone visited me with heart disease, no one would think twice. Cosmetic treatments should be just as accepted as any other branch of medicine.”
A highlight at Dr. Usmani’s clinic is the ‘non-surgical nose job,’ which uses fillers to straighten noses for £299, a fraction of traditional surgery costs. Additionally, he offers mole removal with plasma technology, which minimizes scarring by “frying off” moles and leaving a small, healable scab.
