Coronation Street actor Colson Smith recently revealed on Instagram that he underwent a hair transplant procedure, sharing his post-surgery experience and newfound confidence with his followers.
Known for his role as Craig Tinker on the popular ITV soap, Smith posted a photo giving a thumbs-up, showcasing a change in his hairstyle due to the transplant. In his post, he candidly admitted to contemplating the procedure for several years since noticing hair loss at the age of 22.
“Losing my hair at such a young age has been a tough thing for me to come to terms with,” Smith wrote. “I instantly feel SOOO much better and more confident that I’ve taken a step to getting back my luscious strawberry blonde locks.”
Smith expressed gratitude towards his surgeon, whom he met last year, for guiding him through understanding his hair loss and its future implications. He highlighted his appreciation for the talented team based in Manchester who supported him in his hair restoration journey.
“No more comb overs and baseball caps,” Smith declared optimistically. “Here’s to a future of having a cracking head of hair!”
Earlier this year, Smith participated in the relaunch of Celebrity Big Brother, finishing in third place. Reflecting on his swift return to Coronation Street post-series, he humorously remarked on his character’s minimal dialogue as he eased back into filming.
“Today I only have one line,” Smith shared with Good Morning Britain. “So you know, I can’t complain today, they are easing me back in Weatherfield. The line is, ‘How old are you?’. It’s taken me all weekend as well.”
Coronation Street airs on ITV1 on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays at 8pm, and is available for streaming on ITVX.
