Irish actor Barry Keoghan (Saltburn, The Banshees of Inisherin) has recently sparked plastic surgery rumors after appearing with noticeably fuller lips—a stark contrast to his earlier, thinner pout.
Dr. David Shafer, a New York-based plastic surgeon, suggests Keoghan may have had subtle lip filler. “The increased volume in his upper lip, especially at the vermilion border, is a classic sign of well-done filler,” he says. Others speculate it could be the result of a lip flip (Botox technique) to enhance the appearance of fullness without actual filler.
Keoghan has remained silent on the rumors, but his Saltburn costar Jacob Elordi joked in an interview, “Maybe he’s just been biting his lips more.”
Male lip filler is on the rise, with more actors and influencers opting for subtle enhancements. “Men are realizing that small tweaks can make a big difference on camera,” says Dr. Anthony Youn.
Some worry that Keoghan, known for his unconventional looks, is succumbing to Hollywood’s narrow beauty ideals. “His unique charm was in his natural features,” one Reddit user wrote. “This feels like another case of celebrities losing what made them special.”
