Just over a week after her costar Jennifer Affleck said she’s expecting her third baby with her husband Zac Affleck, Mikayla Matthews announced her own pregnancy.
On Thursday, February 20, Mikayla told the world that she and her husband, Jace Terry, are going to have their fourth child.
In some Instagram photos, along with pictures of their current family of five, Mikayla was shown holding some sonogram images and cradling her growing baby bump. The 24 – year – old Mikayla wrote on Instagram, “Thought I’d finally announce the next step on my healing journey🤍. Can’t wait to love this baby.”
Mikayla was talking about her fight against an unknown chronic illness. She believes it was caused by her breast implants.
On January 29, Mikayla celebrated being one year without her implants. Along with a video showing her struggle with the chronic illness, she said, “I put off removing them for a long time (even though I only had them for 10 months), but it was the best decision I made for my own health.”
The soon – to – be mom of four also wrote, “Removing them was the start of getting my health back and clearing the infection from my body. I still have a long way to go, but I finally see hope at the end of the tunnel!”
In a statement to People, Mikayla said her pregnancy was a surprise, and she even caught the moment on camera. “It was definitely a surprise! We weren’t planning or trying,” she told the magazine. Right now, Mikayla and Jace have three kids: Tommie, who’s 3, Haven, who’s 5, and Beckham, who’s 7.
Mikayla said, “Because of my health problems, my periods are often irregular. A month and a half passed, and I told my friends, ‘Maybe I should take a pregnancy test.'”
Mikayla admitted she didn’t have any of the pregnancy symptoms she had with her first three kids. “That made me think I wasn’t pregnant because I usually get symptoms really early, like two or three weeks in. Then I took the test, and it was positive right away,” she told People. Even though they’re happy about growing their family, Mikayla said both she and her 30 – year – old husband Jace are a bit worried because she still has health issues.
“Because of my health, I didn’t think I could get pregnant now. My husband was with me when I took the test. He doesn’t usually show much reaction, but we were both really shocked. Then we got excited. We’re excited, but also nervous about my health and what might be passed on, but overall excited,” she told People.
